How does the Delete Bulk option work?

The Delete Bulk function in Spotler MailPro allows you to remove a large group of contacts at once. This feature is useful when you need to remove unsubscribed contacts or correct errors in your database.

Instead of manually deleting contacts, you can upload a CSV file containing the details of the contacts you wish to delete. Spotler MailPro will match these contacts and remove them from the selected group or permanently from the system.

What is the Delete Bulk option

The Delete Bulk option in Spotler MailPro enables users to delete a large group of contacts in one go. This is particularly helpful for tasks such as cleaning up incorrect or duplicate data in your database.

When to use the Delete Bulk option

  • To quickly delete large numbers of contacts.
  • When you want to remove incorrect or duplicate contacts from a group.
  • To clean up a group after an event.
  • To clean up inactive subscribers.

How does the Delete Bulk option work

Follow these steps to use the Delete Bulk option:

Step 1: Create a CSV file

Create a CSV file with the email addresses of the contacts you want to delete. The first row should contain field names, such as email and firstname. Make sure all mandatory database fields (those that need to be filled in for contacts) are included in the file.

Step 2: Open the Delete Bulk option

Navigate to the Data section in Spotler MailPro:

  • Click Contacts in the left sidebar.
  • Click Delete Bulk in the top-right corner.

Step 3: Delete the contacts

Upload the CSV file containing the contacts you wish to delete. Choose whether you want to remove the contacts only from the selected group or permanently from Spotler MailPro.

Important

If a contact is only in that group, and you choose to "remove only from the group," it will become a "floating contact." This means it will still be in Spotler MailPro but will no longer be associated with any group.

Step 4: Confirm the deletion

Review the list of contacts to be deleted and click "Confirm" to proceed with the deletion.

Important notes

  • A misformatted CSV file may cause the deletion process to fail.
  • Optional database fields don't need to be included in the CSV file, but incorrectly formatted optional fields may cause error messages.
  • A deleted group cannot be restored, so make sure to double-check your selection before proceeding.
