Publish an automation flow

After you have built a flow, it is not immediately live. You have to publish the flow.

Checking a flow

You can check the flow via the button at the bottom right of the flow builder. The most important checks are:

  • Are all actions linked to each other?

  • Are all actions filled with emails, filters, etc.?

  • Doesn't the flow end with multiple links to the same actions?

Publish a flow

Before you can publish the flow, you must first close it. You will then end up on the overview page in the Automation menu. Then click once on the desired flow and choose Publish.

You follow 3 steps:

  • Step 1 - Validate
You will end up on a new page where the flow is checked one last time. If an error is found, you cannot publish the flow until you have modified it.
  • Step 2 - Check
You see the start time, the groups set up and the emails, text messages and filters set in the flow. Check one more time that everything is correct.
  • Step 3 - Confirm
The last thing you need to do now is agree to the anti-spam policy.

When you view a published flow, you can see the number of contacts who have gone through the flow via View.

Unpublish a flow

This option allows you to put your flow offline.

You can also temporarily unpublish a flow. You can publish the flow again later. Then think of it as pausing the flow.

  • If the flow is paused, the opens and clicks that come in at that moment are not followed up. They can be found in the statistics. Follow-up actions are only carried out when a contact opens or clicks again after the flow has been republished.
  • The Delay x number of days action of a contact is paused. When you publish the flow again, your contact will still wait for the number of days remaining. Suppose you have set a delay of 3 days. When you pause the flow, 1 day has passed. 2 weeks later, you publish the flow again. Then there is a delay of 2 more days before the action is carried out.
  • Republishing a paused flow after the relevant date in a Delay to date action will result in the flow action being skipped on that date.
  • Statistics of emails already sent are still coming in.

Delete a flow

You can only delete a flow if it has not been published. Do you want to delete a published flow? First unpublish the flow and then delete it. You can delete it by clicking once on the desired flow and then clicking on More > Delete.

When deleting the flow, all statistics from this flow will be lost. All contacts, content, and filters from the flow are not deleted. These remain available in your environment, the flow is only deleted. The follow-up actions within this flow are no longer carried out for the contacts who were still in the flow. The contact will therefore no longer receive emails from this flow.
