With the Anonymizer feature, if you have strict privacy rules, you can create rules to anonymize different types of information about your contacts after they unsubscribe, bounce or submit a spam complaint. In most cases, there is no need to keep these contacts' data indefinitely.
A contact may become anonymized once a contact becomes a member of (one of) the following groups:
- Unsubscribers
- Soft bounce (def)
- Hard bounce (def)
- Spam complaints
Spotler MailPro performs anonymization every night around midnight. All contacts that have been in the selected group(s) for a selected number of days are anonymized. The Anonymizer feature is configured per campaign.
It is configurable which fields besides the contact's e-mail address are anonymized. Anonymized contacts are given an email address following this structure: recipient_[recipient_id]@example.com.
Important: If a contact is anonymized, the original email address is unknown. Therefore, make sure that contacts who unsubscribed, bounced or submitted a spam complaint are not re-imported! They become new contact records and can be emailed again.
