Messaging Senders in Spotler MailPro is the setup page where users manage the senders used for SMS and WhatsApp messages. You can find Messaging Senders via Setup > Messaging Senders.
Messaging Senders in Spotler MailPro lets users view, create, edit, and delete senders for messaging channels. A messaging sender defines which sender is used when a user sends an SMS or WhatsApp message from Spotler MailPro.
Spotler Message is required for Whatsapp
WhatsApp messaging in Spotler MailPro require Spotler Message. Spotler Message provides the messaging connection and sender setup used by Spotler MailPro. Contact your account manager if you are interested in using messaging functionality in Spotler MailPro.

What are Messaging Senders?
Messaging Senders are sender configurations for SMS and WhatsApp messages in Spotler MailPro. A messaging sender stores the service, internal sender name, and sender value that Spotler MailPro uses when sending a message.
A sender can be created for the messaging services that are available in the license. When WhatsApp is available, the WhatsApp sender uses details from Spotler Message, such as the WhatsApp number and API key.
Where can you find Messaging Senders?
You can find Messaging Senders in Spotler MailPro via Setup > Campaign > Messaging Senders.
The Messaging Senders page contains an overview of existing senders and an Insert button for creating a new sender, Edit button for editing the sender information and Delete button for deleting a sender option.
What information is shown in Messaging Senders?
The Messaging Senders overview shows the configured messaging senders in a table.

| Service | The messaging service used by the sender, such as SMS or WhatsApp. |
| Name | The internal name used to recognize the sender in Spotler MailPro. |

How do you create a messaging sender?
You can create a messaging sender from the Messaging Senders overview.
- Go to Setup > Messaging Senders.
- Click Insert.
- Select the Service for the sender, such as SMS or WhatsApp.
- Enter a Name. This name is only used to identify the sender in Spotler MailPro and is not visible to recipients.
- Enter the required Sender value for the selected service.
- Enter the required connection details for the selected service.
- Click Save.
Settings for a WhatsApp sender
A WhatsApp sender requires sender details from Spotler Message. The WhatsApp sender form contains the service, name, sender, and API key settings.

| Name | Enter an internal name for the sender. This name is only visible in Spotler MailPro. |
| Sender | Enter the WhatsApp phone number without the plus sign. Spotler MailPro adds the required suffix automatically. |
| API Key | Enter the API key from Spotler Message. When editing an existing sender, leave this field empty to keep the current API key unchanged. |
WhatsApp templates come from Spotler Message
WhatsApp messages in Spotler MailPro use WhatsApp templates from Spotler Message. A template must be available through Spotler Message before it can be used when creating a WhatsApp message in Spotler MailPro.
How do you edit a messaging sender?
You can edit an existing messaging sender from the Messaging Senders overview.
- Go to Setup > Messaging Senders.
- Find the sender you want to change.
- Click Edit.
- Update the available sender settings.
- Click Save.
The service may be locked when the sender is linked to one or more messages. In that case, Spotler MailPro shows that the service cannot be changed because the sender is linked to message usage.
When editing a WhatsApp sender, the API Key field can be left empty if the existing API key should remain unchanged.
What is the result?
After a messaging sender is saved, the sender is available in Spotler MailPro for the selected messaging service. Users can use the configured sender when creating or sending supported SMS or WhatsApp messages. When a messaging sender is configured, Spotler MailPro can use the required database fields for SMS and WhatsApp messaging. These fields include the contact’s mobile number and fields that store information about the last sent message.
A WhatsApp sender makes it possible to use WhatsApp messages in supported messaging sendout methods, such as bulk sendouts, Flow Builder journeys, and REST API-based sendouts.
FAQ
Can users activate WhatsApp messaging themselves?
No. WhatsApp messaging in Spotler MailPro requires Spotler Message and the correct messaging setup. Contact your account manager if you are interested in using WhatsApp messaging in Spotler MailPro.
Is the sender name visible to recipients?
No. The Name field is only used to identify the sender inside Spotler MailPro. The name is not visible to recipients.
Can the service of a sender be changed later?
The service may not be editable when the sender is already linked to one or more messages. In that case, Spotler MailPro keeps the service locked to protect existing message usage.
Where does the WhatsApp API key come from?
The WhatsApp API key comes from Spotler Message. The API key connects the WhatsApp sender in Spotler MailPro to the messaging setup in Spotler Message.
