It is possible to use coupons in Spotler MailPro. With coupons, each recipient can receive a unique code. Coupons can be found under Setup under the Coupons menu.
You can add coupons of multiple types. For example, a birthday coupon and a welcome coupon.
This functionality is not a standard part of Spotler MailPro. Are you interested in this functionality? Please contact your account manager or mail to sales@spotler.com. So that this functionality can be activated for you and a specific block can be developed for your template.
Overview Coupons
From the overview, you will see the following actions:
Insert
To add new coupon types, click the Insert button. A new screen will appear:
-
Type
Under type, specify the type of coupon. This can be entered freely. For example: birthdaycode. -
Threshold
Specify at what number of coupons a notification is triggered. So that you can take action on this in time. -
Send email notification
Check this option if you, next to the notification in MailPro, also want to receive an email notification when the threshold is reached. When you tick the checkbox, an input field for an email address appears. -
Auto-deletion interval
Specify after how much time a handed out coupon is removed.
Note that this is only in MailPro's database and has no relation to other systems where you keep track of whether a coupon has been used. -
Delete coupon code when connected recipient, mailing or campaign is deleted
This option is checked by default. The coupon code is linked to a recipient, mailing, or campaign. As soon as one of these elements is removed, the coupon code is also removed. If you want to find the coupon code again to check if it was indeed sent, then uncheck this option.
Import coupons with type from the overview
Upload your list of coupon codes as a CSV file via the Import button.
Choose a file and click Continue.
-
Format specific options
Choose the field separator you also used in the CSV file. -
Match fields
Match the fields in the CSV file to the fields for the coupon type and code. -
Skip the first row
Skip the first row if it contains the column names instead of data.
When all settings are correct, click Import. The coupon codes are now imported.
Coupons (information)
You can find information about coupons when you click Coupons from the overview. Here you can see, among other things, whether a coupon code has been used, which mailing it is linked to, which recipient and campaign. Here you can also remove a coupon code. In this overview, you also add new coupon codes of this type.
Insert
With the Insert button, you can manually add one coupon at a time.
-
Coupon code
Enter the code here. -
Type
Here, you select which type the coupon should fall under. By default, the option you create a coupon from is selected.
Import from list with coupon codes
With the Import button, you upload a CSV-file with codes of one type. This way, you can upload an entire list of codes at once. This process works the same as previously described, except that you choose only one coupon type from the dropdown, instead of matching the type to a field from the CSV file.
Edit
If you want to change the settings of the coupon type, click Edit from the overview.
You will then see the coupon settings.
Delete
There is a difference between deleting a coupon type and an actual coupon. When you click Delete from the overview, you remove the coupon type and all coupons of that type. Removing a coupon is done by clicking on Coupons in the overview and from there clicking the Delete button.
After deleting, the coupon can no longer be found in Spotler MailPro. If it had already been handed out, the handout data will also be deleted.
Placing a coupon code in your email
To apply a coupon code in your email, you need a specific template block. When you drag it into your post, you have the option to select the coupon type under Code type on the right-hand side.
Send and view results
Once the mail is finished, send it to the contacts you wish to hand out a coupon to. Thereafter, you will see in the list with coupons on what date the coupon has been handed out, and you see the IDs of the campaign where the coupon has been handed out, the recipient and the mailing.
